Water stands for feeling and for depth. Fish are what lives down there — so a fish is something from below the surface that has become catchable.

That is a more precise reading than “fish means abundance,” and it explains why these dreams cluster around moments of realization. An idea that had been circling finally takes shape. A suspicion becomes a fact.

What you did with it

Catching one. The clearest positive version. You reached for something specific and got it. Size and struggle both intensify the reading.

One slipping out of your hands. Nearly having it. Worth noting the feeling on waking — relief means it was not the right catch, frustration means it was.

Eating it. Taking in what you gained. Fully yours rather than merely obtained.

Watching fish swim. Aware but not acting. Not a criticism; some things are correctly left alone for a while.
