The same alphabet rule this site uses for dream words, applied to the names of the twelve zodiac signs. Not a horoscope — a procedure anyone can repeat.

There is no horoscope on this page. Nothing about character or compatibility, only how a name turns into a set of numbers.

The twelve signs

The day a sign begins or ends shifts by one depending on the year and the source. The figure in brackets is how many times that number has been drawn.

How the numbers are worked out

Each letter becomes its position in the alphabet — A=1 through Z=26 — and those positions are the seeds. Non-letters are skipped.

For example snake is S=19, N=14, A=1, K=11, E=5.

The seeds are multiplied by 1, 2, 3 and so on, wrapped when they pass 69 (Powerball's range), skipping repeats until six numbers are filled. Zodiac animals are the one exception on this site — they use the order of the twelve signs rather than their spelling, so this tool does not cover them.
